Smart Jobs & Consumers   –  Energy Efficiency Training Curricula:

SJ-1.1 Energy Efficiency Training Programs

Energy Audit Professionals Certification

Purpose the system

Since the Paris Agreement was reached, Japan’s energy policy has been aimed at realizing a thoroughly energy efficient society while the active efforts have been expended to combat global warming. In the industrial and commercial sectors, it is necessary to further strengthen the activities to enhance energy conservation by promoting the efficiency of facilities and equipment and optimizing the use of energy through energy management.

With this background, ECCJ has decided to establish the “Energy Saving Professional (EneSave-Pro) Certification System” to find and train talent who can conduct surveys and analysis of actual energy consumption and promote smart and precise energy conservation. EneSave-Pro is expected to play a central role in promoting energy efficiency and conservation in Japan, for example, by becoming leaders in the energy solution business and in internal energy efficiency and conservation efforts.

What is “Energy Saving Professional”?

The “Energy Saving Professional (EneSave-Pro)” certifies the competence to conduct comprehensive energy management audits at factories and buildings and to propose measures for improvements.

Specifically, the following skills are certified.

1.Basic knowledge

Knowledge of not only energy conservation and electricity saving, but also renewable energy, demand management, energy storage, carbon neutrality, etc.

Ability to calculate the amount of energy reduction and energy-derived greenhouse gas emissions.

2.Skill to find problems

Skill to find problems of energy conservation and greenhouse gas reduction from data and information encountered in the field of energy audits.

3.Skill to solve problems

Skill to propose, in response to the found problems, measures for energy conservation and greenhouse gas emissions reduction through facility operation improvement, facility renewal, fuel conversion, etc.

Outline of Examination

1st stage: Written Exam.

Section I: Basic knowledge (energy conservation, de-carbonization)

Section II: Skills to find and solve problems

2nd stage: Interview

Submission of the trial audit report and interview
