SJ-1.1 Energy Efficiency Training Programs

Professional Training Program for Energy Managers in Industry and Mining

The Energy Sustainability Agency (former Chilean Energy Efficiency Agency) is an autonomous, technical and executing agency of public policies around Energy Sustainability Efficiency, which receives public and private financing. It has extensive experience in the development of training instances at all educational levels.

Purpose of this curriculum:

The Program will aim to provide knowledge associated with the energy sector to professionals capable to contribute to energy management within their organization, with a view to improving energy performance to cover gaps, detect opportunities for improvement, contract Energy Efficiency services and manage energy consumption in the organization.

At the same time, it seeks to grant recognition to professionals through the Industrial Energy Manager (IEM) certification. The program is aimed at professionals who work in different industries who wish to enter and develop energy efficiency projects in their companies.

This year, the Energy Efficiency Law was enacted in the country, which will require the industry to have trained human capital to respond to the requirements of the new regulations, in particular those energy intensive. Anticipating this public policy, the Agency, at the request of the Ministry of Energy, developed this training program, which already has 8 versions in its regular plan, an international version (Argentina) and 2 sectoral versions. In addition, this program has created a network of professionals graduated as energy managers at the service of energy sustainability in the country.
