NEEP was founded in 1996 as a non-profit whose mission is to serve the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic to accelerate energy efficiency in the building sector through public policy, program strategies and education. Our vision is that the region will fully embrace energy efficiency as a cornerstone of sustainable energy policy to help achieve a cleaner environment and a more reliable and affordable energy system.

About Us:

NEEP’s work is guided by a strategic plan with the long-term goal to keep the Northeast – Mid-Atlantic region an influential national leader and innovator in realizing the full potential value of energy efficiency, and to serve the region as highly-valued catalyst and resource to achieve this result. Our strategy to accomplish this includes four key areas of focus: reduce building energy use; speed adoption of high efficiency products; make energy efficiency visible; and advance knowledge and best practices.

[gravityforms action=”conditional” merge_tag=”Energy efficiency is a highly valued resource in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region to meet energy, economic and environmental goals. Having to import nearly all of the fuels needed to heat and power our homes, buildings and vehicles, the region has among the highest energy costs in the country. At the same time the region is uniquely challenged by air pollution from upwind power plants and by rising sea levels resulting from greenhouse-gas induced climate change. And as a densely populated region, it is difficult to site new energy facilities of nearly any type. As a result, state policy makers across the region have made cost-effective energy efficiency a top priority.

In this context, NEEP builds momentum to realize the full potential for energy efficiency by bringing stakeholders together to overcome policy, market and institutional barriers to energy efficiency.” condition=”isnot” value=””]
