SJ-1.1 Energy Efficiency Training Programs

UPLIFT is a Public-Private Partnership project with a developmental agenda in implementing energy management courses in Indonesia in partnership with private training institutions and the academe. Joining and supporting the project will initiate the compliance of energy management programs of companies in Indonesia and thus, increase the awareness in up-scaled energy management programs. The target group will have:

  • Free training of faculty members from the universities
  • Increased human local capital in the field of energy management
  • Subsidized consultations and workshops from the ToT (Train-the-Trainer) sessions
  • Subsidized technical assistance in implementing energy management programs in selected five (5) anchor companies
  • Significant energy savings through employment of accredited energy professionals and successful implementation of energy management programs
  • Available up-scaled curriculum that addresses the current energy management program needs in Indonesia
  • Public access of Energy Management materials through the Web portal

The objective of the project is to implement training offers in the field of energy management with lasting success. In more detail, the project wants to establish:

  • A short course on basic industrial energy management at University of Indonesia (UI) and University Gaja Mada (UGM), as well as,
  • A training program for energy managers from energy intensive industries at three private training institutes, among them TUEV Nord Academy
  • Provide certification for all successful energy managers who participated in the trainings by a recognized institution in energy management

The two main target groups are:

  • Students from UI and UGM from disciplines like Industrial, Electrical and Environmental Engineering; and,
  • Energy professionals who are connected to energy-intensive industries
