SB-1.2 Low Energy Building Demonstration Projects

Located in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Centrepoint is one of the first environmentally friendly office buildings in the country. With the green features adopted in the building, such as high-tech variable air volume centrally controlled air-conditioning system and sub-metering for separate tenants, energy efficiency improvement and greenhouse gas emission reduction of more than 30% was achieved.

Energy Systems:

  • Ventilation – high tech VAV centrally controlled air conditioning system
  • CO2 monitoring system & control – fresh air levels in the building are maintained
  • Natural Daylight – excellent natural daylight with over 80 % of NLA covered and 90% of NLA having external views
  • Daylight glare control – external louvers reduce solar heat gain
  • Sub-metering – provided for substantive energy uses for each tenancy
  • Cooling tower has low water consumption
  • Reduced internal noise levels with high performance glazing
  • Kone Eco Disc elevators – consumes up to 70% less energy than hydraulic drive and 50% less than traction drive elevators.

Savings Narrative:

The building is designed to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 20% and saves over 30% on energy consumption.
